Adventures in Middle Earth Loremaster Guide Cubicle 7 9780857443113 Books
A must-have for any potential Loremaster for AiME! You can DM just fine with just the Player's Handbook, but I suggest this book to give the DM some ammo/fuel to create and run more in depth adventures. It has some very interesting sections, especially when addressing resting and adventuring! The product is bound well, the pages are joy to flip through thanks to the art and use of easy to read font. I love it!Product details

Adventures in Middle Earth Loremaster Guide Cubicle 7 9780857443113 Books Reviews
I'm really liking Middle Earth 5e. Hoping that they'll be doing more books!
Great book
My review of the Players Guide to ME was poor for a number of reasons. First it was restrictive. Second it contained many "errors" in my opinion. The Loremaster's Guide not only corrected blatant errors but expanded the LOR experience immensely! I found this book to be well thought out, extremely playable and a delight. I can ONLY attribute the lack of functionality if the PHB to be a rush to be printed. The manuscripts of JRRT are a dynamic and magical place and shouldn't be confined to a 225 page OGL rule book. We that have been playing D&D for most of our lives realize this and apply this to OUR games. What I would like to see is these dynamics be published on a regular basis (errata, mistakes) perhaps on a website. It's interesting to note the topic on "The Canons of JRRT" chapter. Mr. Tolkien (by default) created the lore, mythology and spirit of ME. Anyone running games should adhere to it or otherwise find another world to play in! This was a wonderful touch by the authors. Players should be aware that no particular "Canon" exists, but rather the spirit of PC's, NPC's and Loremaster's should follow Mr. Tolkien's works as closely as possible. History tells us the JRRT created this "world" to create a diversion during WWII and provide the English people an outlet away from war. We should all respect his wishes and continue his legacy. Now because of this OGL a few more titles are appearing. This is wonderful! Other authors, other interpretations of the manuscripts has opened up a plethora of opportunities for gaming fun. Its just my hopes that this trend continues and adhere to the acronym OGL (Open Gaming License). If the spirit of ME is to continue we ALL need to respect the Canons and MORE importantly just have fun playing In this amazing world!
Lovely book, very helpful to me (a rather novice GM) in running a campaign in Middle Earth. I love the series, its creative - uses the D&D 5e mechanics I'm familiar with, but really puts on the lore and the feel of Middle Earth. Well done!
This was one of the main things my husband wanted for Christmas! I love it when he adds it to our cart so he doesn't forget about it. Then, I just go ahead and purchase it without him knowing! )
-TL;DR below-
DISCLAIMER
I'm only give 4 stars because of the slight condition the book arrived in, the book itself is 5 stars imo
The material in the book is excellent if you're planning on being the DM for a game. There are an abundance of resources that make it easy to run, if you're thinking about starting a 5e Middle-Earth (LotR) D&D, look no further.
On the condition of the book
I purchased both the Loremaster's Guide (Book in question), and the AiME Player's Guide. They both arrived in the same book sized box with no packaging. These books didn't arrive plastic wrapped (I'm not sure if they do from the Publisher). Both books are obviously new, but the Loremaster's Guide was slightly banged up out of the box (See attached images*). This isn't a concern for me but I'd rather have the book in the same condition as the Player's Guide, which did not suffer any damage in the same exact box. Also there seems to have been some type of debris that caught itself between the books during transit that scratched up both of the books. This is superficial, it's only obvious when you feel it or shine a light on it (which is what I did in the pics to highlight)
*I've included the Player's Handbook in a few pics for reference, it is a separate purchase (Not included when you purchase the Loremaster's Guide)
-----TL;DR-----
Great book, definitely get it if you're thinking of DMing a Middle Earth 5e D&D game. Book was slightly banged up on arrival, otherwise perfect 👌🏻
